Jr. High Convention - April 18 & 19 • 08
This weekend is Jr. High Convention is Belleville, ON. and we are looking forward to an exciting time. We will be leaving the church at 1:00pm on Friday and will be back to Highway Pentecostal Church by 8:00pm on Saturday night. If you haven’t registered yet, please do so.
Let’s Talk about Sex - Starting this Month for Sr. High Students Only
Yes, it’s true. We will be taking on the difficult challenge, over the span of 4-5 Wednesdays of talking about sex with the youth this spring. However, since the discussion is going to be directed towards high school age and up, the Jr. Highers will not be involved in this part of our Wednesday nights. If any parent would like to view any of the material that is going to be used, please do not hesitate to ask. Call the church office 613.342.4075 for more or email Pastor Dwayne at pastordwayne@highwaychurch.net. (Note: this will not be a sex-ed class, it is assumed that the student has taken health education in schools.) Topics include: Sex and Identity, Sex and Intimacy, Sex and Singleness, and Sex and the Brain. What about the Jr. Highers? The Jr. High students will be involved in what we are calling the “Escape Olympics.” Each week they will have the opportunity to overcome exciting challenges and games, with the chance to win great prizes.
Escape Wave Pool Night - May 2nd • 08 - Hopefully this time we will have waves!
For Jr. Highers only. We will be going to Ottawa for this event. Check our web site for more details as the date gets closer.
AWAKENING: Youth Convention 08 - May 16-18 • 08
The largest high school convention in our district is less than a month away. The promo video is already online and more information is coming. Please grab a registration form from Pastor Dwayne’s office as soon as you can.
I HEART REVOLUTION: Movie Night at the Theatre - May 21 • 08
United Live from Hillsong, Australia - Along with most of the other Brockville youth groups, we will be taking part of this worldwide event at our local theatre. Pay attention to www.meetmeatthecrossing.com for details.
